NIHONKAI
NIHONKAI represents the essence of tradition in both spirit and cuisine. The restaurant takes pride in reflecting the heritage of Japanese art within its decor and highlighting Japan's pristine waters, the source of its premium sushi offerings. For a harmonious blend of design and culture, I made sure to design the entire brand to incorporate traditional-styled Japanese art and a logo typeface to integrate elements of Japanese calligraphy, characterized by offset lines and a fluid downward stroke, for an elegant visual homage. I incorporated the logo to have a circle that would interact with other visuals in a way that symbolizes the brand capturing or encompassing it as its own. This symbolizes that Nihonkai embodies traditionalism and the oceans it gathers from.
